Special teams coaches only care about reliability but specialists spend the bulk of their time training their ability.

Teeing up from 60 yards with hurricane force winds at your back to catch a personal best that you can post on IG while blasting some Lil’ Baby in the background is an inefficient use of your training time.
The red zone begins at a 37 yard field goal. Unless you are a kicking master from 37 yards and in, your coach will not let you take any shots beyond that.
Why are you worried about a 55 yard field goal when you miss the 25 yarder?
And why are you worried about the 25 yard field goal when your extra points look awful?
I am sure you work hard - what kicker doesn’t. But your practice should mirror reality, not deny it.
